The look you want, the budget you have — here’s how to choose.
Regular (broom-finish) concrete is the workhorse: strong, affordable, low-maintenance. Stamped concrete is the same structural slab with a decorative surface pressed and colored to look like stone, brick, slate, or wood.
Standard concrete runs about $6–$12 / sq ft; stamped runs about $12–$20 / sq ft. You’re paying for the pattern work, color, and sealing.
Stamped wins on curb appeal — it mimics high-end materials for far less than the real thing. Broom finish is clean and classic.
Both are durable. Stamped concrete needs resealing every 2–3 years to keep its color; broom finish is nearly maintenance-free. On walkways and pool decks, ask for a non-slip additive in the sealer.
For a statement patio, entry, or pool deck, stamped is worth it. For a straightforward driveway or utility slab, standard concrete is the value pick. We do both — and we’ll tell you honestly which fits your project.
